FAQ
Common Questions Before You Book
Answers to the questions we hear most often about service prep, timing, and aftercare.
What does a Stage 2 correction remove?
A two-step cut and polish removes roughly 80-90% of defects - swirl marks, scratches in the clear coat, oxidation, water spotting and buffer trails. This is the restoration option, not a touch-up.
How long does Stage 2 take?
Usually 1-2 days depending on the size and condition of the vehicle. It is a two-step process and rushing it defeats the point.
Is my paint too far gone?
Rarely. There is a limit - anything through the clear coat needs paint, not polish - but heavily swirled, dull and neglected paint is exactly what Stage 2 is for. Send us photos and we'll tell you honestly what we can get back.
How is this different from Stage 1?
Stage 1 is a single polishing step removing about 50-60% of defects. Stage 2 adds a cutting step before the polish, removing around 80-90% - more correction, more time, and a better result on paint that needs it.
Do I need a ceramic coating afterwards?
We strongly recommend it. Stage 2 removes more clear coat than Stage 1, so protecting that fresh surface is what makes the work last.
Will the swirls come back?
Not if the car is washed properly. Almost all swirling comes from wash technique - automatic car washes and dirty wash mitts. Use pH-neutral soap, a clean microfiber mitt and the two-bucket method, or put it on our Maintenance Detail Package and we'll handle it.
